My Weekly Rant: The Real Road to 100k per year online…

100k per year…

It’s like the holy grail to the middle class working guy. We all want to get there, but most of us claim we don’t know how.

And there’s a ton of ways to get there—you could go to law school and become a lawyer. You could go to medical school and become a doctor. You could get an education in a high paying financial position such as Actuarial Science. Heck, here in Chicago, principals of grade schools and high schools make an average salary of 100k per year.

But if you’re reading this, there’s a good chance that none of the above methods appeal to you. Or, maybe you’re already one of these guys, and you want to do it a different way. Maybe the rat race doesn’t appeal to you anymore, and you’re looking for a way out. So you decided to tackle the internet…

And you can make an incredible killing online, but you have to have a clear head about it, and realize what it takes to get there first. So here are a few tips to follow if you want to make 100k per year or more online

This isn’t rocket science: I don’t remember who told me this, but truer words were never spoken about making money online. I can’t stress this enough guys. Making money online is not rocket science. It’s about putting a few time tested-proven principles and techniques into place and repeating those over and over again. Most decent e books can tell you 100s of different ways to make money online, and most will even give you the exact steps to get there.

And guess what? Sometimes it’s easy, and sometimes it’s not. Some get there fast, others take a little longer. It’s just like school, or your job, or exercising. You have to follow the steps, and you have to learn from your mistakes along the way.

Which leads me to my next tip.

Take Action: Money does not just rain out of the sky. Even lottery winners had to buy their ticket before they strike it rich. So why should it be any different for you? You have to take action if you want to be successful. Yes, you will make mistakes. You will lose money. You will have bad weeks and bad months. That’s just the name of the game. But those who take action and learn from their mistakes, will always end up on top.

Find a system and stick to it: If you decide you want to make money in MLM, or in any other business for that matter, you need to find a system, and stick to it. If you’re in MLM this system could be one already laid out by the company you are a part of, or by your upline. Follow these first. There will be some things that really work for you and others that don’t. Test them out. Keep what works, and tank what doesn’t.

After you have completely followed one system. Try to find what is missing, and look for another system that will help you strengthen those weak areas.

Take Baby Steps: So many people want to get to 10 K per month. But before you get ahead of yourself, ask yourself this… Have you made 5K per month online yet? How about 1K per moth? How about $100 per month?

Ever heard the term “You’ve got to crawl before you walk’? Well the same is true online. You have to take baby steps. You have to first get to $100 per month before you can get $1000. And you have to get to 1k per month before you get to 5K or 10K. That’s the name of the game. You cannot grow exponentially unless you first know how to get your first customer. Once you can consistently get people to come buy what you’ve got every month, then you will start to have the blueprint to making more money. But first, take baby steps.

Be Realistic: So what’s the best way to do that? Once you get out there and start building your business, be honest with yourself.

Let’s face it… Are you really going to write 30- 100 articles per month and distribute them to the article directories? Are you really willing to write multiple posts in your blog each and every week to your subscribers?

Some of you are, and some of you aren’t. But if you’re one of those guys who are lazy, and don’t want to do all that work, it doesn’t mean you still can’t be successful. It just means you have to pay someone to do it.

I’m going to say that last point again because it’s important. If you want to be successful online, but you don’t have the time, or you don’t feel like doing the work. You can pay someone to do almost any job you want online. Places like craigslist and elance became famous from doing just that.

That’s also how the big boys are able to make so much money. Most of them started out just like you, but once they started making money, they began slowly outsourcing tasks to different companies. Thus, they eventually start making money on autopilot with little to no effort of their part.

That’s how the ‘gurus’ are able to dish out hundreds of successful mini sites at the drop of a hat. They do the initial work, or develop a concept, and outsource the rest.

But realize this… you either have to spend time, money or both to be successful online. That’s the general rule of thumb. You won’t be successful without doing one or both of these things.

So there you have it. It’s not pretty, but it’s true and you need to know these things in order to succeed in business. In weeks to come, we’’ get to the real fun stuff.
